Biography

Niki Colet likes to tell stories. As a singer-songwriter, she uses music to tell stories about everything from high school crushes and daily life to fairytales with pirates and magicians in them. Now 19 years old, she has been writing songs for the past 8 years. At the age of 11, she was partly inspired by a TV show called Unfabulous to start writing songs. These days, her current inspirations include a wide variety of artists, ranging through different genres and time periods – Regina Spektor, The Killers, Joni Mitchell, Joe Purdy, and the Velvet Underground, just to name a few. With her distinctive voice and the help of her trusty guitar, she writes and sings songs that are raw and personal. Though she enjoys playing with words, she values, above all things, the presence of authenticity and soul in her music. This is why she believes that every song must tell a story, and she tries to tell each one with as much heart as she possibly can.
