The Warner Music Group is exploring Web3 alternatives for music artists.

Following their partnership with NFT marketplace OpenSea inked on 29 September, Warner Records has partnered with Probably Nothing (a web3 culture company owned by entrepreneur and chef Jeremy Fall) and have released Probably a Label, which is not only an NFT collection but what they're calling "a Web3 major label" as well.

"We decided to start Probably A Label, basically utilizing the resources of a major label like Warner Records with the Web3 acumen that we have at Probably Nothing to deliver an IP incubator to our holders [with] various drops with big Grammy Award-winning musicians that we'll be announcing very, very soon," Jeremy Fall shared on Probably A Mind Day w/ @probablyalable + friends Twitter Space. "We're excited about the possibility of creating a virtual artist with our entire community. So our whole thing is, imagine being able to create a virtual artist within the community [...] then the artist wins a Grammy, and the entire community gets credited individually as winners of that Grammy."

This is not the first time the Warner Music Group has ventured into Web3, as they have announced their partnership with The Sandbox to mount metaverse concerts. And according to their Vice President for Audience and Strategy Sebastian Simon, Probably A Label seems like the next step after exploring Stickmen Toys, audio-visual NFTs by Warner Records UK and Bose. Through this effort, Warner Records has become the first-ever major label to give ownership of the IP.

Warner Records also spearheaded the launch of the first-ever, chart-eligible music NFT with Muse through their album Will of the People.

Minting for Probably A Label went live and sold out in seven minutes yesterday (06/10).  The web3 label will also host its public sale today (07/10). View the collection here.
