5 ways to prepare for Harry Styles' 'Love On Tour' concert in Singapore

Estimated: 6 mins  reading

It is almost time for Singapore to step into Harry's House

This month, British singer-songwriter Harry Styles will make a stop in the Southeast Asian city-state as part of his ongoing Love On Tour, which has already seen him perform in numerous cities across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Oceania since commencing in 2021.

As Styles' last visit to Singapore was all the way back in 2018, it is perfectly understandable for fans who have been eagerly awaiting a reunion with the three-time Grammy winner to grow increasingly excited as the 17th of March draws closer. But between now and the day Styles takes the stage at the Singapore National Stadium, there is much that one can do to prepare for his concert.

As you count down the number of days till the Love On Tour arrives in Singapore, here are five things that you can do to make your concert experience an unforgettable one.

BRUSH UP ON THE ESSENTIAL TUNES

As with all other concerts, there is homework to be done before you catch Styles' in the Lion City. If you have not already been doing so, now is the time to brush up on the tracks that you will be singing and dancing along to soon.

The 29-year-old's 2022 third studio album Harry's House — which won the awards for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards — is essential listening and the best place to get started since Love On Tour supports it. Besides ensuring that you have committed the lyrics to beloved tunes such as 'As It Was', 'Music For a Sushi Restaurant', and 'Late Night Talking' to memory, you will also want to you are ready to join Styles when he performs tracks such as 'Boyfriends' and 'Daydreaming'

Once you have familiarised yourself with the new additions to Styles' catalogue, you will want to revisit his two earlier albums, 2019's Fine Line and 2017's Harry Styles. In them lie numbers — including 'Watermelon Sugar', 'Adore You', and 'Sign of the Times' — that have stood the test of time and will more likely than not continue to be featured on Styles' future setlists.

PREPARE TO SPLURGE ON MERCH

If the merch booths in Melbourne are any indication, fans and concert attendees can expect a pretty fabulous collection: hoodies, totes, caps, and even socks!

Cop your merch of choice early as the booth is open on the 16th of March, a day before the event, from 12:00 NN to 6:00 PM at the Stadium Riverside Walk. On the day of the event, booths will be open at the South Dome Deck (10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM to 11:00 PM), Gate 3 and Gate 12 (6:30 PM to 9:30 PM), and the Stadium Riverside Walk (10:00 AM to 11:00 PM).

Take note that payments can only be done via VISA, Mastercard, UnionPay. Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayNow. Cash will not be accepted.

GET ACQUAINTED WITH STYLES' BAND

Being a solo artist does not mean that you have to do everything on your own. Take Styles, for instance. When he takes the stage, he usually does so alongside a very talented touring band.

Boasting a roster that has included musicians such as Mitchell Rowland (lead guitar and backing vocals), Sarah Jones (drums and backing vocals), Pauli Lovejoy (percussion and backing vocals), Elin Sandberg (bass and backing vocals), Ny Oh (piano, keyboards, rhythm guitar, theremin, backing vocals), Yaffra (piano, keyboards, and percussions), and more, the outfit elevates the overall concert experience by breathing new life into every song that it performs. And judging from the warm reception its members have been receiving during the Love On Tour, it is safe to say that fans already consider them to be an important part of the Styles family.

COME READY FOR A SMOOTH ENTRY

Styles' concert in Singapore will be a fully seated one but you will still want to arrive early as a large number of attendees and heavy traffic are expected. Explore your options here.

Of course, security screenings are also to be expected. If possible, come with as few items as possible to speed up your entry into the Singapore National Stadium. Do also make sure that you bring along your physical ticket or a printed or PDF copy of your E-ticket on the day of the event and check the gate that you should be entering the venue from.

These include food and beverages purchased outside the Singapore National Stadium, filled water bottles, bags larger than 35cm x 20 cm x 30 cm in size, fan boards larger that exceed A4 measurements, flags and placards that contain offensive messages, and noise makers.

For those picking up their tickets on the day of the concert, take note that the customer service counters are at Gate 6 and 18 and will start operations at 6:30 PM on the day of the event. On the other hand, those who have Premium Gold/Silver tickets can collect their exclusive merchandise at Gate 18, Level 3 (100PLUS Promenade) strictly from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
