Eggboy drops 'The River Yu' remix – listen

Eggboy shares a new take of That Epic Reggae Set's 'The River Yu.'

Packed with fuzzy tones and a whole other beat, Eggboy (né Diego Mapa) gives 'The River Yu' a refreshing feel from its 2001 predecessor. He adds an old school slapback to his vocals and a second voice that completes the track's new vibe.

Mendel Limpin, who originally wrote 'The River Yu,' shared his thoughts on Eggboy's take of the Pleasurecraft song. "When I heard this version, kinilabutan ako! Kasi parang ito e, this should be it. This is the right version pala?! And the song was a bad grape juice na nagmature at naging fine wine. Eggboy fanboy ako e, so tangina kinilig ako! Ang ganda!"

 

Ron and I wrote several songs years ago that we compiled together and became “Pleasurecraft.” Tandang tanda ko pa yung mga pangyayari noon. Ang saya. I remember writing this song on an acoustic guitar na putol yung G String. Wala kasi akong pambili ng strings haha. And because of that, everything sounded different to me noon sinusulat ko siya.
